Within the framework of Ibn Rushd College of Education for Humanities – Department of History’s efforts to enhance national awareness and instill a sense of belonging among students, the Human Rights Unit, in collaboration with the Educational Guidance and Continuing Education Units, organized a workshop on Tuesday, 28 October 2025, titled “Reducing Irregular Migration and Promoting Citizenship Spirit”. The workshop was attended by several faculty members and students from various academic levels.

The workshop was conducted by Prof. Dr. Suad Hadi Hassan Al-Tai, Prof. Dr. Mahdia Faisal Saleh, and Prof. Dr. Sulaf Faidallah Hassan, who analyzed the phenomenon of irregular migration from scientific and social perspectives, highlighting it as a contemporary issue that directly affects youth. They emphasized the dangers of this phenomenon and its negative consequences for individuals and society.

The workshop focused on fostering a spirit of citizenship and national belonging among students, guiding them to build their future within their homeland through active participation in development, education, and work, rather than seeking illegal solutions abroad. It also underscored the crucial role of families and educational institutions in providing guidance and advice to young people, reinforcing the values of responsibility and belonging.
